EDITOR’S CORNER
In a recent communication between myself and our President, Ben Best, I lamented about the fact that he mentioned in a Yahoo Group message that he had a CI-ID number. (He’s #24) This was news to me! Sometimes, when an Alcor member posts a message on Cryonet, they’ll close with "John Doe, Alcor Member # XXXX.I had never seen a CI member close with such an appellation, nor had I known they even existed. Well, I’m very happy, I’m now #45! I guess Bob Ettinger is #1.
Thanks to Danila Medvedev for catching the typos on the Cryonics Support Groups World Wide (CSGWW) page.
See LETTERS page It’s rather embarrassing that it took someone whose second language is English to catch them.
The CSGWW page has two more listings. The first is a Russian Group, and the second is The Cryonics Society (CS) who prefer to be listed under an International heading. The rationale is that due to the internet, we live in an interconnected world. Their focus is to educate, advise and counsel hence they can do this anywhere people are able to go online.
CS is an organization started by Nick Pavlica, and Rudy Matic, both CI members. A few years ago, Rudy was CI’s Public Relations Coordinator. Nick is a member of the Cryonics Society of Canada, and the President of CS.
And thanks to Vicki Sandoval and her daughter for supplying the information for MEET VICKI SANDOVAL, this was scheduled for the last issue, but Vicki has had some problems and couldn’t complete it. Ten thousand salt and pepper shakers!! Wow!!
I wonder how Ben got such a low number. I better not ask. I might get a new one longer than my phone number!
