ANSWER: For an Option One Member the cost for long-term storage and vitrification solution perfusion by CI is $28,000. Post-mortem cool-down, tissue stabilization, blood washout and transport by SA is paid for by a Completion Fee of $30,000. Thus, the minimum amount of life insurance required by CI would be $30,000 + $28,000 = $58,000.
Note that this only pays for the Transport and long-term storage portion of Suspended Animation procedures, and assumes pre-payment of the Standby portion. The very minimum that you could pre-pay for Standby (pre-mortem) procedures from Suspended Animation would be $7,500. To be of benefit from this minimum you must die (deanimate) within 72 hours from the beginning of deployment or pay more money for more time.
The minimum insurance funding for an Option Two Member to have both Standby (pre-mortem) and Transport (post-mortem) procedures from Suspended Animation is $95,000:
$95,000 = $35,000 (to CI) + $30,000 (Standby) + $30,000 (Transport)
Prices may be increased by as much as 10% per year after 2010 and additional procedures are expected to come available for additional costs. Thus, anyone planning to fund entirely through insurance would be prudent to have an insurance policy of well over $100,000, despite the fact that a $100,000 policy would be adequate currently. Note that prices are less for someone paying in cash and/or for incremental Standby.
Also, you should be aware that CI must be the owner of any insurance policy used for funding a Suspended Animation Local Help Rider.
Funding details are carefully explained on the CI website at:

ANSWER: Most people do not deanimate suddenly, without warning. But if that occurs, and SA team could be deployed to provide the best cooldown, tissue stabilization, washout and transport that they can manage under the circumstances. SA fees would be the $7,500 deployment plus the Completion Fee of $30,000. If your next-of-kin or Medical Surrogate feels that local help would be adequate under the circumstances, the SA deployment could be cancelled and the money would go to designated beneficiaries (preferably not the next-of-kin or Medical Surrogate).
ANSWER: No. All of the funeral director service fees and shipping fees that would have been paid for under the standard CI Local Help Rider will be paid for as part of the fees paid to Suspended Animation under the Suspended Animation Local Help Rider. Note that "Transport" by Suspended Animation is not the same as the shipping and packing in ice that is done by a funeral director. "Transport" by Suspended Animation includes all of the stabilization procedures performed after Standby and the pronouncement of death: ice-bath cooling, heart-lung machine ("thumper"), anti-ischemic medications, movement of the patient in the ice-bath with the thumper still in operation and blood replacement with organ preservation solution as well as shipment in ice.
ANSWER: The Suspended Animation Local Help Rider guarantees the Member that CI will surrender ownership of the insurance policy to the CI Member if the Member wishes to cancel the arrangements with Suspended Animation. CI will also provide a written guarantee not to change beneficiaries without the knowledge and permission of the Member, and will furthermore guarantee to the Member that allocation of funding to beneficiaries can be changed upon request by the Member as long as this reallocation does not result in inadequate funding to pay for Suspended Animation Standby and Transport.
ANSWER: Suspended Animation has provided the following official answer to this question:
Suspended Animation will consider creative alternatives for prefunding a standby. Since we cannot claim to have considered all the options, we invite proposals from individual CI members. Our response will be based on factors including financial risk, liquidity of funds, and accessibility of funds in the proposed method of prepayment or payment. Our own potential case load may also affect our ability to take on unusual obligations. While we reserve the right to accept or decline alternate funding arrangements, we will not make any determination that is influenced by race, religion, age, or gender of the applicant.
